Developmental Level Expectations
.
.

Students at the K-2 developmental level need explicit instruction in the general skills and strategies of the reading process. Explicit instruction (modeling and demonstration) should be followed by frequent opportunities for guided practice with feedback. The goal is to move students toward independent use of the strategies in an environment based on student needs.
